iSupport for Dementia Program
Supporting Carers, Strengthening Communities
Murray Mallee Aged Care Group proudly partners with the Australian iSupport program, helping families and carers navigate dementia care with confidence, no matter their cultural or linguistic background.
Most people living with dementia are cared for at home by family members, a responsibility that is especially common within culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Supporting a loved one through dementia can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging, and access to the right guidance and resources can make all the difference.
To help address this gap, the World Health Organization (WHO) developed iSupport for Dementia. The Flinders University-led iSupport research group has worked closely with carers, community members, and service providers to adapt the WHO iSupport program specifically for use in Australia, ensuring it reflects the needs of our diverse communities.
The Australian iSupport program is available in multiple languages and formats, making it accessible to a wide range of carers across the country.
A Playbook for Carers and Professionals is also available, providing a practical guide for community aged care organisations, including Murray Mallee Aged Care Group, to implement the iSupport program within their own services.
